Created by a highly passionate and talented creative writer, Bookish Promotions is a one-woman graphic design studio focused on providing digital marketing packages to fellow authors. Though the client base is limited to a specific industry – authors, especially fiction novelists – and the project brief is always the same – promote that person’s latest book – the books themselves cover a wide variety of genres, themes, and subject matters.
Keeping this top of mind, the challenge was clear: create an identity system that quickly and clearly communicates its narrow focus on writers, while simultaneously appealing to authors whose work spans the gamut. Combined with the company name, the quill pen serves as shorthand and direct call to authors. The carefully selected typography strides the balance of the historical and the contemporary, while the color palette creates an unexpected and energetic combination that draws inspiration from classic, hand-bound books.
